How do you create your own stationery?

Do you love looking at stationery and wishing that you could get your hands on some of it? Do you often design invitations, cards, or thank-you letters for friends and family members in your head? Perhaps you are just starting on the adventure of creating your stationery. This blog post is tailored to help anyone make their custom stationery, whatever your situation may be. We will go through 5 ways to help turn your wish into a reality!

Find Your Inspiration

The first thing to do is find your inspiration. The key here is to look for stationery you really like and then think about why it appeals to you so much. Is there anything special or unique? What colours are the paper, envelope, and letterhead made from? Once you have answered these questions in your head, try looking at different stationeries created by other designers on their websites. For example, if a particular card has caught your eye because of its beautiful calligraphy-style writing but what truly stands out is the brown colour scheme with a touch of red accenting every few words – this would be an excellent opportunity for you! You can take inspiration from other people’s designs while adding something personal into yours too.

Prepare Your Designs

After you have found your inspiration, the next step is to start preparing your designs. This can be done by hand with a pencil and paper or if you feel more daring – using software such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. Whichever route you decide to take, make sure that you create a rough draft of what your design will look like first. For example, if you’re creating an invitation, it’s crucial to include all relevant information (date, time, location, etc.). Sometimes less is more, so try not to overcrowd your stationery item with too much text. It’s also worth bearing in mind any envelopes or cards that need folding! If everything looks good on paper (or screen!), then it’s time for the next step.

Choose a Colour Scheme

The next step is to choose a colour scheme. There are endless possibilities when it comes to choosing colours for your stationery; however, what you should bear in mind here is that the most important thing is not necessarily how many different colours there are or which shades they come from – but instead how well those colours work together and complement each other on paper (or screen!). If you’re having trouble mixing and matching designs with the perfect colour palette, then try using a simple tool such as Adobe Kuler – this will allow you to find complementary tones easily by clicking through an assortment of premade palettes! Alternatively, if those don’t tickle your fancy, then look online at some existing Etsy listings with items similar to yours.

Get Quotations

The next step is to get a quote from the printer you will be using. There are many different printers available, so it’s crucial to pick one with good reviews and offers competitive prices for your stationery items. If you’re unsure about where to start, then try looking at some Etsy listings of other people who have used this particular company before – they may include an image of their invoices or quotes, which can give you an idea of how much things should cost! Make sure that when picking up these quotes, ask exactly what kind of paper stock (thickness etc.) they will use for each item for everything to fit together nicely later on.
