How Much Do Booklets Cost To Print?

Whether you’re a small business or an individual artist looking to produce a small portfolio of your work, printed booklets are a great way to draw in more business. With any investment, it’s important to make sure that you’ll see a return on the money you spend on marketing. To calculate your ROI (return on investment), you’ll need to know exactly how much you can expect to pay for booklets. The costs involved actually depend on several factors, including the pages, ink, size, binding, quantity needed, and delivery time.

Paper and Page Count

The paper you choose for your booklets will have a big impact on the final price. Fortunately, for most clients, our standard Saddle Stitch booklet paper will be a great option. Coming in sizes A6 to A4 and a lower page count, this is our most economical option. However, depending on your needs, you may wish to opt for a heavier paper. Of course, the more pages you wish to include in your booklets, the higher the price will be.

Ink, Size, and Binding

If you’re an artist, making sure the ink colours come out exactly as you want them to is essential. This may require ordering specific colours, which can drive the cost up. Even if you’re not an artist, it’s still a good idea to print your booklets in colour, as the final product will look much more professional. As long as you don’t need an exact colour match, you’ll be able to print in colour for a reasonable price.

As expected, the bigger the booklet, the more supplies it requires and the higher the final cost. The binding you choose will also influence the price. We offer four types of bindings: Saddle Stitch, Perfect Bound, Hardback, and Wiro Bound. Hardback covers are the most expensive and are suitable for yearbooks and other formal publications. Perfect Bound is similar to a softcover book and can hold more pages than the Saddle Stitch. For an economical hardcover option, consider our Wiro Bound.

Quantity, Turnaround Time, and Mailing

To save yourself a little extra cash, make sure you order your booklets well in advance of the date you need them. A quick turnaround time will drive up the price, both in terms of production and mailing. Though it may be counterintuitive, ordering more booklets than you need can save you money in the long run. Hitting a certain threshold of booklets can result in a bulk discount, so make sure you inquire about this when you place your order.

The Total Cost

With the above factors taken into account, printing booklets can cost anywhere between £25 to £25,000. Before requesting a quote, decide which components – quantity, paper type, ink, size, and page count – are the most important, and which you’re willing to compromise on. If you need a quicker turnaround time, consider reducing your page count by minimizing the size of the booklets to drop the price and speed up the order.
